It is clear that Eugene Robinson did not fear defining SCOTUS Justice Thomas’ wife, Ginni Thomas, for the demented person she has become.
Is Ginni Thomas demented?
Ginni Thomas testified in front of the Jan 6th Committee last week. According to the New York Times, she continued the big lie.
WASHINGTON — Virginia Thomas, the wife of Justice Clarence Thomas and a conservative activist who pushed to overturn the 2020 election, told the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol that she never discussed those efforts with her husband, during a closed-door interview in which she continued to perpetuate the false claim that the election was stolen.
Leaving the interview, which took place at an office building near the Capitol and lasted about four hours, Ms. Thomas smiled in response to reporters’ questions, but declined to answer any publicly. ..
In a statement she read at the beginning of her testimony, Ms. Thomas denied having discussed her postelection activities with her husband.
Recently Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Eugene Robinson appeared on MSNBC, where he kept it real. While not perfect, the media calls out Trumpists more than they did before, but they still give much too much credibility to Trumpists.
“If you had asked me a few years ago about Ginni Thomas, I would have said she is a far-right Republican activist,” Robinson said. “She just appears just to be part of the demented fringe, really, just so far out there that she can’t see reality anymore. The idea that she is the wife of a Supreme Court justice, the idea that someone that close to the pinnacle of judicial power in this country does not believe in our justice system, does not believe in the results of more than 60 court cases or more than 60 judges. Looking at this question of the day, as if there were a question about the 2020 election and saying, no, this is garbage, this is ridiculous.”
Robinson was not done.
“None of these claims is true. And she rejects all of that,” Eugene continued. “Irrational Is not a strong enough word for it. I just keep coming back to demented. It just doesn’t make any sense.”
Ginni Thomas should be tried for treason. And her husband should be investigated for complicity.
