The colorful former GOP Chair Michael Steele had a blunt message to Democrats. Stop saying Republicans are not telling us what they will do if empowered. Believe what they are telling you.
The former GOP Chair is correct.
Many Democrats are in a near panic as they see what they thought was America waking up to the MAGA Republican weaning. Why is this happening? Democrats in enough numbers are not going for the jugular. How can a party that says it intends to sunset or cut Social Security and Medicare win? Because Democrats are not making it believable to Americans that MAGA Republicans are a clear and present danger not only to Democrats but to independents and Republicans alike.
Michael Steele had a long warning at the segment’s close with Stephanie Ruhle. He first expressed that Republicans are indeed telling Americans what they are going to do.
“They’ve been telling us for months what they’re going to do,” Michael Steele said. “They’re going to do exactly what Kevin just said. We’re likely to oppose more aid to Ukraine. Oh, guess what? We’re likely to, you know, have hearings on Hunter Biden. We’re going to impeach Joe Biden. They’ve been telling us. I don’t know what more you want, so you can sit back and worry about the economy all day long.”
Steele knows the election should be winnable for Democrats and Progressives and ends his montage with a stark warning.
“You all need to get it together,” Steele said. Because you are about to mess this thing up three weeks from tonight.”
The man is exactly right. Democrats need to be on the offense. They can pin inflation, crime, and immigration on the Republicans as they should with the correct narrative.
