Watch as we cajole this ill-informed Republican to think critically on air in real-time.

November 3, 2022 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

A caller objected to prospective judge Juanita Jackson calling out Republican lies about crime & bail bonds. Watch him get frustrated as he agrees.

Ill-informed Republican

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

The airwaves in Houston, Harris County, Texas, as around the country, are filled with attack ads blaming Democrats for increased violent crime. In Harris County, Texas, they are specifically attacking Democratic judges for releasing defendants, a few who have murdered people in the county. It is all a sham.

Let’s first lay a foundation. We pointed out the following in a recent article.

The rising violent crime rates over the past two years is a major issue that elected officials must address immediately. While many have blamed the criminal justice reform movement for the rise in violent crime, the fact is that these increases in violent crime can largely be attributed to an alarming escalation in gun violence. If elected officials are serious about stopping violent crime, they need to prioritize and support stronger gun laws.

The article points out the following.

*Rising crime rates are almost entirely driven by an increase in gun-related homicides.
*
Rates of gun homicides have increased dramatically among children and teenagers.
*
Nonfatal gunshot injuries are also on the rise.
*
Firearms are frequently used to threaten people during other violent crimes.
*
As gun crimes and the gun homicide rate have increased, the number of mass shootings has also grown considerably.
*
Violent crime and homicide rates are worse in states with weaker gun laws.

Democrats and Progressives must get on the offensive on the crime issue, among many others. Tag every Republican with the crime increase.

Again, Republican policies are responsible for the increased crime rates. It is not restricted to them flooding their states with guns but the policies that generate poverty and economic angst. I have been using all my platforms to undo the damage from the lies and misinformation in Republican ads about crime and the complicity they attempt to tag on our judges. For that reason, I engaged this ill-informed Republican who called into Politics Done Right.

The caller wanted to throw all the Democratic judges out. He bought all the lies from the ads. I had a guest that was able to lay out the truth. The caller had a problem walking through the issue and was able to get him to realize that Republican legislators were the guilty party. He got frustrated at the end when he was cajoled back to reality. We must attempt to deprogram ill-informed citizens. It is time-consuming and not for the short term. Please listen to the entire video clip.
