The nephew of bigoted anti-gay Republican Rep. ripped into her false tears floor speech.

December 17, 2022 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Missouri Rep. Vicky Hartzler (@RepHartzler) made a fool of herself as she shed bigot tears on the House floor and objected to the Respect for Marriage Act. Her nephew Andrew Hartzler (@andyhartzler) ripped into her.

Hartzler’s nephew mocked her crying as he answered her lies on the House floor point by point.

“Today a United States congresswoman, my Aunt Vicki,” Andrew Hartzler said. “Started crying because gay people like me can get married.”

He then played where his aunt begged her colleagues not to support the bill codifying gay unions.

“So, despite coming out to my aunt this past February,” Andrew said. “I guess she’s still just as much as a homophobe.”

The Congresswoman lied when she said that gay marriage was not in danger but faith institutions were being silenced. Andrew clapped back.

“That’s not right,” Andrew said. “Institutions faith like universities are not being silenced. They’re being empowered by the US government to discriminate against tens of thousands of LGBTQ students because of religious exemptions. But they still receive federal funding.”

She accused that the bill is tantamount to saying submit to our ideology or be silenced.

“It’s more like you want the power to force your religious beliefs onto everyone else,” her nephew replied. “And because you don’t have that power, you feel like you’re being silenced. But you’re not. You’re just gonna have to learn to coexist with all of us and I’m sure it’s not that hard.”

That was a perfect deconstruction of his aunt’s outright bigotry. It is clear she won’t get it. But many others will. We must confront these bigots at every turn and shame them for who they are as they try to divide the country.
