(FUNNY) Ali Velshi on MAGA missed subversion: 2 brown Muslim guys anchoring primetime back to back

January 15, 2023 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Ali Velshi had a message for Mehdi Hasan. He is happy that MAGA folks are concerned about gas stoves because …

Ali Velshi had a message for Mehdi Hasan.

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Mehdi Hasan was rightfully ridiculing the Republican echo chamber treating their audience and constituents as less than bright. Ali Velshi found irony in that. If these folks remain concerned about frivolities, as real advancements are made that tend to scare them or activate their carnal prejudices, it may be a good thing, according to Velshi’s following implication.

“I am glad, though, about your segment, about how folks are getting a little worried about the gas stoves,” said Ali Velshi. “And you were talking about the culture wars and Dr. Seuss. And I remember Donald Trump talking about not enough water coming out of the shower and he has to flush several times to get it to work. But I’m glad about that because what they’re missing is the actual subversion going on in America tonight with two brown Muslim guys anchoring primetime back to back on a major American network.”

“Don’t say it out loud,” Mehdi Hasan said jokingly. “Shhh.! Shhh!”

“Go crazy about your gas stove,” Velshi continued. “Because they are worried about gas stoves. They are not worried about us, Mehdi!”‘

Yes, this is funny. But we live in an America where the pied piper can lead a substantial portion of the population. And sometimes, the pied piper can distract sufficiently to allow progress to move forward without undue friction.

Ali, this funny clip is more complex than many would see immediately. Then again, the brand of journalism you and Mehdi bring to the space is refreshing and necessary.
