BINGO! Rep. Ruben Gallego shows how Democrats must campaign — lean into their accomplishments.

February 18, 2023 By Egberto Willies

Rep. Ruben Gallego is ready to take out Kyrsten Sinema or any Republican contender. He has no fear telling Americans the bread & butter success that helps his constituents and all Americans.

Ruben Gallego to Democrats

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Rep. Ruben Gallego wants Democrats to lean into the extensive accomplishments of the first two years of the Joe Biden administration that prevented the economy from falling into a depression. It is clear he will not allow the #Republicans to grab their successful #economic message.

The segment starts out with Mehdi Hasan giving President Joe Biden high praise and then questioning why Biden continues to suffer from low poll numbers.

“Congressman. I never thought I’d say this, but Joe Biden is the most successful president, in my view, in my lifetime in terms of legislation passed in terms of the economy he’s overseeing,” Mehdi Hasan said. “As you mentioned, it has been an astonishing series of wins for the president. it feels good for the Democrats, I’m sure. And yet a recent poll from ABC News. … The problem is, look at the polling.”

Given Biden’s poll numbers, Hasan asked Gallego if he would campaign with Biden. Gallego was firm and unapologetic. More importantly, his narrative was one every Democrat must heed.

“Absolutely. Look, I’m going to be very happy to campaign with the person who took on pharma and beat them and said that you will not be gouging our seniors,” Gallego said. “And I am going to be happily campaigning with the person that brought the largest microchip manufacturing fab in the country, actually in the world, to Arizona. I’m going to be very happy to be with that person. I’m the person that’s going to be very happy to campaign with someone who promised to actually bring down the cost of insurance. And he did that. This president has given results. And I think at the end of the day, people are going to look at the results and say this president has been the most consequential president in our lifetime. And I want that person to return to the White House.”

That is how it is done. But the congressman was not done.

“It’s very important that Democrats do something that we don’t do,” Gallego continued. “We need to be talking about the successes. We should be proud of what we’ve been able to do here. We literally have been able to take this economy that was in a deep recession because of COVID and come out of it stronger with some of the strongest economic indicators and the lowest unemployment in the history of this country. These are things that we need to be bragging about, and we should not be afraid. For the first time, Democrats really need to say that we are leading this country in the right direction. And when we lead within that manner, I think we’re going to be able to get people to really follow us.”

Let’s make sure this is on the tip of the tongue of progressive politicians and activists alike.
