Tucker Carlson released a deceptive video made from the 40+ thousand hours of the Jan. 6 security videos Kevin McCarthy gave him.
Mitch McConnell dinged Tucker Carlson.
I received an email from a Right Winger after he viewed the Tucker Carlson video that claimed Jan. 6 was not an insurrection or an attempted coup. The email was short. The subject line was “The narrative.” And his message was short and wanting.
“Can you explain the discrepancy to me, please?” the Right Winger asked, along with providing a link to the Tucker Carlson lying video.
I listened to the entire video. I wanted to give him a complete answer. I replied with the following. I did some grammar edits as I answered from my phone and had a few typos.
My Reply:
There is no discrepancy. There is just a different narration to convince the mind of the weak that their eyes are deceiving them.
- If it were peaceful and a democratic hoax, both Democrats and Republicans would not be hiding, and both were visibly terrified.
- They invaded the place, and as a movement activist who participated in shutting down freeways and many other protests, most people are peaceful and move meekly. They are the bodies we want to enhance the cause. You’ll find that about 3% are actually doing the action. In this case, the insurrectionists are being put away, just not fast enough.
- I cut videos for what I do. I know to edit to enhance the truth. As has been proven several times, the Fox bunch does the opposite. That Tucker Carlson, even in his propaganda, had to show crimes is probative.
- The under-oath depositions from Fox News hosts, including Hannity, Carlson, and Murdock, prove they knew they were lying and did so to appease a base they made ignorant.
This video is an expansion on that which, unfortunately, will give those who hear the truth a snippet to hold on to. As a naturalized citizen who revered this country as a bastion of intellect, even given its founding flaws and sins, I continue to be amazed that the system is methodically making its people, at least those who willfully predispose themselves, to be pathologically ignorant.
Look, I do what I do because I believe in truth and Democracy. It is hard when misinformation is corporate-backed. But I believe in the long game.
