CNN’s Jake Tapper watches bewildered as he exposes Republican for being a bumbling Trump sycophant.

March 26, 2023 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

It was clear that CNN’s Jake Tapper forced Oversight Committee Chair into an incomprehensible litany of double speak and disjointed arguments as to why New York Attorney is overstepping for investigating Trump.

Jake Tapper allowed James Comer to hang himself in his willful ignorance

Jake Tapper gave James Comer all the rope he needed to hang himself as he tried to disparage New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Comer seemed unable to distinguish the difference between a state crime and a federal crime.

Comer and some of his cohorts sent a third letter on Saturday to New York DA Bragg. NBC News reported it as follows.

“Contrary to the central argument set forth in your letter, this matter does not simply involve local or state interests,” the lawmakers wrote. “Rather, the potential criminal indictment of a former President of the United States by an elected local prosecutor of the opposing political party (and who will face the prospect of re-election) implicates substantial federal interests, particularly in a jurisdiction where trial-level judges also are popularly elected.”

One does not have to be a lawyer to see the absurdity of the letter. It is hard to believe that there would be that degree of jurisdictional ignorance. It is clear that Trump has his sycophants embarrassing themselves to avert an embarrassing indictment.

But the district attorney would have none of it. He is displaying the necessary fortitude that has Trump and his sycophants in a panic.

Bragg, who had fired back last week at the Republicans for requesting his testimony before Congress about the investigation, pushed back again in a statement shared on Twitter Saturday evening

“We evaluate cases in our jurisdiction based on the facts, the law, and the evidence. It is not appropriate for Congress to interfere with pending local investigations,” Bragg wrote. “The unprecedented inquiry by federal elected officials into an ongoing matter serves only to hinder, disrupt and undermine the legitimate work of our dedicated prosecutors.”

Anyone watching James Comer as he was unable to provide cogent responses to Tapper’s rather civil grilling had to feel a degree of pity for the Chair of such an important committee bending himself into pretzels as he delivered an incoherent babble to defend his master, Trump.
