Congressman Bob Good continued to show the irresponsibility of the Republican Party in general and the Freedom Caucus in particular. His irrational take on the Debt Ceiling says much about a failed party.

I was surprised that Joe Biden was able to pull the debt ceiling agreement off in such a favorable manner to the Progressive value set. But the reality is that the Right had nothing to offer. They continue to be a party that is performative instead of one that governs with policies to make the lives of most better. And that is why even as upset as MAGA Right Wing Republican Freedom Caucus member Bob Good is, he has no real answers.
The budget that Republicans offered as based on where negotiations would begin was a non-starter. It only passed because Kevin McCarthy made it clear the evil cuts would be negotiated out of the bill. But the Freedom Caucus apparently did not get the memo. That is why a lying, uninformed Congressman like Good could make the false statement that the agreement would make default more likely. He is concerned about an increase in debt of 10% over 2 years when a 25% cut over 4 years did not bother him when Trump was in office.
Here is the deal Republicans will have to understand. When looking at revenues, these guys have been so irresponsible with tax cuts that they have created a debt situation that otherwise would not have been there. Tax cuts do not pay for themselves either with economic activity or investments.
