Fmr. GOP Party Chairman Michael Steele explains why Trump could win the 2024 Presidential race.

June 27, 2023 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Former Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele articulated an inconvenient truth that should give every Democrat and Progressive pause. Trump could win the 2024 presidential election.

Michael Steele on possible Trump 2024 win.

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

The Democratic intelligentsia’s betting they want Trump because he is the most beatable Republican. I suggest they come down from their ivory towers.

Here is a reality that should scare every Progressive and Democrat. America is not a Democracy. We need to come to the realization that the Constitution was designed in a manner that allows those with land and capital to have to mislead a small number to maintain power (e.g., Electoral College, California, and Montana both get two equally powerful Senators, …).

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by about 3 million votes and lost a few swing states by around 80,000, causing her to lose the Electoral College. Worse, Biden won the popular vote by over twice as much as Clinton, 7.1 Million or so to be exact. Had 21,000 votes changed in a few swing states, Trump would have won the Electoral College, even losing the popular vote by a landslide.

How did we get here? We can blame those who vote for Trump and against them and call them stupid, or we can cede nowhere to no one. Our analysts in Washington would not understand folks in the Barrios, Ghettos, and Appalachia. Those are voters our policies give opportunities to, but we have not invested in these communities to build trust before we ask for their votes. Do you know who does this? Republicans and the organizations they invest in always and often. And it is not about money. It is about who we give money to over and over again, even as they fail.

Invest in communities at the granular level. Build trust. In my activism, I cede no person to the Republican Party. I see every single person as one I can bring into the fold. Imagine if we stopped giving money to a bunch of analysts who know little about the condition of many Americans and invested in independent media, community organizations, grassroots organizations, and the like. It does not happen because often, we disrespect those whose vote we seek.

Michael Steele’s last statement is profound and should be heeded.

“We’re going to be studying this phenomenon for a long time to better understand how this country, in all that we profess, can withstand this in the future,” Michael Steele said about those who gravitate to the lies and cult of Trump. “Because right now at 49, 45 [Biden’s tiny lead in the registered voter poll], and yeah, you can say what you want about Joe Biden’s age. You can say all you want about Democrats. This is less about them and a lot more about a country that’s inclined towards some of the things Donald Trump is putting out there.”

When one creates a vacuum or leaves one unfilled, it will be filled by those who are more willing to do the work to fill it. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Our intelligentsia is not insane. Take that and run with it. I will discuss that in another post.
