Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has a message for America; one cannot wait for ‘knucklehead’ Trump to get it to take care of climate change.

Gov. Inslee: Disregard the knuckleheads. Move on.

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Gov. Jay Inslee did not mince his words as he referred to the former president, Donald Trump, as a knucklehead for his stance on climate change. Recently Trump jokingly referred to the ocean rising as creating beachfront properties. This is insensitive to all Americans as they weather devastating climate change-caused storms.

Martha Raddatz interviewed Inslee recently, and he had a lot to say. He said, in effect, that the roosters have come home to roost. We are now reaping what we sowed from our neglect of heeding the warnings from scientists and environmentalists. He said that all was not lost yet. It is a solvable problem. Martha’s question, though, was prescient given our crop of deniers.

“You have candidates out there like Donald Trump who mocked the idea of climate change, and there are a vast number of Americans who ignore it, don’t care about it, or don’t believe it,” Raddatz said. “How do you convince those people it’s time to care?”

Gov. Inslee’s answer was fast and the point.

“We can’t wait for Donald Trump to figure this out,” Inslee said. “We don’t have time to mess around to wait for this knucklehead to figure this out. We just got to make sure he’s not in office. “

Inslee then gave the marching orders every environmental activist has been preaching for decades but takes on a new urgency.

“The way we do this is to vote against climate deniers, vote against people who refuse to assist this moral and economic crisis that we have.” Inslee continued. “You can’t wait for these folks. You just got to make sure they’re not in office where they can do damage. Let them go out and play golf. We’ll solve this problem. It’s a solvable problem if we work together, and people are coming around to this very, very rapidly because their homes are burning down. They’re choking on smoke from the Canadian fires.”

One hopes all media remains focused on the climate issue even in quiet periods. We have got to get over our short attention spans.
