Ron DeSantis caves in an interview. He and Hillary Clinton share the same thoughts about MAGA.

August 20, 2023 By Egberto Willies

The Florida Standard interviewed Ron DeSantis on Friday. And he similarly defined a section of the GOP MAGA base similar to Hillary Clinton. Hillary called them deplorables. He called them listless vessels only supporting those who kiss Trump’s rear end. Otherwise, one is a RINO.

Ron DeSantis and Hillary Clinton agree?

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Ron DeSantis‘s comments on the MAGA base are more similar to Hillary Clinton‘s remarks from the 2016 election than he may want to acknowledge. Both DeSantis and Clinton have expressed similar sentiments about Trump supporters, dividing them into two distinct groups.

DeSantis criticizes those within the MAGA movement who blindly follow Trump, suggesting that it won’t be a sustainable movement if it continues in that direction. He implies that unless someone fully supports Trump, they are labeled a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only).

Hillary Clinton’s 2016 comments about Trump supporters included labeling some as the “basket of deplorables” (referring to racist, homophobic, xenophobic attitudes, etc.) and another group who feel let down by the economy and government. While Hillary took a beating for those comments, when analyzed, it is factually accurate. She acknowledge in her commentary that there were, in fact, many who felt left behind or dangling in the wind. Some, by their behavior, are immoral and inhumane.

Despite DeSantis’ criticism of blind loyalty within the MAGA movement, he has acted in a way that is inconsistent with his words, trying to emulate Trump rather than distance himself from him. This has led to a suggestion that he doesn’t deserve to be president, along with other Republicans running, due to the policies they intend to pursue.

The intriguing alignment between DeSantis’s recent comments and Clinton’s past views on a faction of Trump supporters, as well as the broader implications and critiques of the political landscape surrounding the MAGA movement and the Republican Party, is astounding, especially this close to a Republican debate. Sometimes the power of truth simply seeps out.
