Kingwood Texas Floods Again, May 2024.

May 5, 2024 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Once again, the Kingwood, Texas, area is experiencing a significant flood. It is becoming a way of life that engineering can solve, but our political and economic system proves incapable of mitigating.

Kingwood Texas Flood

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

While I am urged to rant about these floods and why many who are flooded support those who create the policies that cause them, I will refrain. In these times of stress, exhaustion, mental pain, and despair, the most important thing is to get people’s lives back to as normal as possible.

Safety and Information First

Visit the Harris County Flood Warning System website to sign up for alerts and see the flooding status in our area. You can monitor the Lake Houston levels at the USGS website. Visit Kingwood Resident Bob Rehak’s excellent blog on area flooding, which includes reports, analysis, and much more.

I spent Friday and Saturday exploring flooded areas. The sunny, pleasant weather could not mask the slow-moving unfolding catastrophe for many. Fortunately, in these trying times, the community seems to come together.

A few representative videos

Lake Houston, flooded by waters heading downstream from Lake Conroe via the San Jacinto River, is flooding Royal Shore’s Pier Park in Kingwood, Texas.

The Kingwood Lakes subdivision in Kingwood, Texas, floods as the San Jacinto River continues to bring Lake Conroe’floods to Lake Houston.

I recorded this video of flooded streets in Kingwood Greens, Kingwood, Texas, as the San Jacinto River and Lake Houston started flooding the area.
