Donald Trump is doing precisely what progressives said he would do. He lied to MAGA and is now about to execute policies that will harm him.

Trump is already screwing his base.

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Podcasts (Video — Audio)

The video critiques the economic and social policies of Donald Trump and the Republican Party, emphasizing how they disproportionately benefit the wealthy while vilifying and harming working-class Americans. It explores the exploitation of labor, the stigmatization of social programs like SNAP, and the broader systemic class warfare waged by billionaires and corporations. The speaker highlights the need for a collective awakening to economic inequality and a call to action for progressive change.

Key Points:

  • Trump’s tax policies enriched corporations and the wealthy while offering negligible benefits to working Americans.
  • Republicans perpetuate myths of laziness to stigmatize essential social safety-net programs.
  • Billionaires exploit labor while contributing little to the economy, acting as economic parasites.
  • The GOP uses fear, misinformation, and cultural issues to distract from their economic agenda.
  • Progressive policies like the Affordable Care Act provide tangible benefits, highlighting the potential of a more equitable government.

The video underscores the urgent need for systemic reform to address wealth inequality and corporate greed. It calls for holding politicians accountable and supporting policies that uplift the working and middle classes rather than enriching the few. By embracing progressive ideals like universal healthcare, living wages, and fair taxation, Americans can reclaim their government from the corporate stranglehold and ensure dignity and opportunity for all.

Donald Trump’s rhetoric has always been a masterclass in populist pandering, yet his policies have repeatedly betrayed the very people who propelled him to power. From massive corporate tax cuts to an unrelenting assault on the social safety net, his administration’s agenda disproportionately benefited the wealthiest Americans while placing an increasingly unsustainable burden on working and middle-class families. As he eyes another term, Trump’s allies and policies are already signaling their intent to double down on this betrayal—targeting programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and other essential benefits millions of Americans rely on to survive.

The Myth of the “Handout Society”

One of the most insidious tools of Trump’s political playbook—and that of his Republican allies—is the framing of ordinary Americans as lazy or overly dependent on government support. This narrative, rooted in neoliberal ideology, paints safety-net programs as enablers of idleness rather than lifelines for hardworking citizens. Yet this framing is a gross distortion. The reality is that the majority of SNAP recipients, for example, are either children, seniors, or working adults whose wages are too low to make ends meet.

The Trumpian worldview ignores the fact that the average American works harder and longer than their counterparts in most industrialized nations. They juggle multiple jobs, suffer stagnant wages, and face skyrocketing healthcare, housing, and education costs. Meanwhile, billionaires—the “psychopaths” of our economic system—amass unfathomable wealth off the backs of this labor, siphoning resources that should benefit everyone.

Trump’s Economic Sleight of Hand

During Trump’s first administration, his signature achievement was the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, a giveaway to corporations and the wealthy disguised as middle-class relief. While corporations saw their tax rates slashed permanently, any minor benefits for working families were set to expire within a decade. Worse yet, these tax cuts failed to deliver the promised economic growth. Instead, they ballooned the federal deficit, providing Republicans with a pretext to argue for cuts to essential programs like Social Security, Medicare, and SNAP.

This playbook is not new. It is part of a long-standing strategy by the GOP to transfer wealth upwards while undermining public services. By the time Trump left office, the wealthiest 1% of Americans held more than 30% of the nation’s total wealth, while nearly 40 million Americans lived in poverty.

The Cost of Corporate Greed

It is crucial to understand who the real parasites in our economy are. They are not the janitors, teachers, or garbage collectors who perform essential work. Instead, they are the billionaires, stockbrokers, and corporate executives who extract value without contributing to the public good. Trump’s policies perpetuated a system where these elites could continue their exploitation unchecked. Meanwhile, his administration vilified struggling Americans for daring to rely on the meager safety nets that remain.

Consider the case of SNAP. Republicans routinely highlight isolated incidents of alleged “abuse” to stigmatize the program. Yet SNAP fraud is exceedingly rare—accounting for less than 1% of the program’s costs. Contrast this with the trillions of dollars corporations and the wealthy have extracted from public resources via tax loopholes, subsidies, and outright corruption.

The Perpetual Betrayal

Trump’s attacks on social programs are not an anomaly but a feature of his governance. While his supporters may have believed his promises to “drain the swamp” or fight for the “forgotten man,” his actions tell a different story, whether it was reducing protections for pre-existing conditions in healthcare, gutting labor rights, or undermining environmental protections, Trump repeatedly prioritized corporate interests over the needs of ordinary Americans.

For working-class Americans who voted for him, the betrayal is particularly stark. Trump promised economic relief, but his policies made life harder. The tax cuts did not trickle down; they evaporated into higher prices and reduced public services. The same dynamic is playing out again as Republicans eye cuts to programs like SNAP to fund their continued largesse for the wealthy.

The Way Forward

The betrayal of Trump’s policies should serve as a wake-up call for Americans across the political spectrum. Progressive movements must amplify the message that economic justice is not a handout but a right. Programs like SNAP, Social Security, and Medicare are not luxuries but fundamental to ensuring a dignified life for all citizens. At the same time, progressives must challenge the broader economic system that allows billionaires to hoard wealth while ordinary Americans struggle to survive.

It is time to acknowledge the class warfare being waged against working people. This is not hyperbole but an honest assessment of the deliberate policies prioritizing corporate greed over human needs. If Americans fail to see through the smokescreen of Trump’s populist rhetoric, they will continue to elect leaders who give with one hand and take far more with the other.

The stakes are clear. With Trump and his allies already signaling their intent to slash benefits further and entrench corporate power, the choice before voters is stark. Will they continue to vote against their interests, swayed by false promises and cultural distractions? Or will they demand a government that works for the many, not the few?
