Kingwood, TX’s #NoKings Rally: Well Attended And Well Received As MAGA Land Stronghold Fizzling

The Kingwood, TX #NoKings Rally, organized by Indivisible Kingwood (TX02) was peaceful and successful. It’s clear the movement is making a difference educating and breaking peer pressure barriers.

Kingwood, TX’s #NoKings Rally

The sign in the caption above says it all. This is not a left or right moment. It is a right or wrong moment — more on that later.

I am writing this more from a personal perspective than solely from an activist-journalistic one. First of all, Indivisible Kingwood (TX02)’s leader, Cindi, and her team did a great job. They had overflow signs, water, security captains, as well as ensuring there would be enough police officers to guarantee the safety of the more than 500 concurrent attendees from the potential disruption by any violent or disruptive violent Right-Wingers. They even had people counters that a few of our young attendees used to keep track of the crowd.

I was most happy to see the most multi-generational, multi-gender, and multi-ethnic attendance of this #NoKings rally, as will become evident from the interviews. I broke my own record in the number of interviews, albeit short ones — 42 interviews in 2 hours and 45 minutes. My maximum previous was around 20 or so at the Netroots Nation Conference, the largest gathering of Progressive bloggers, writers, and politicians in the nation, which I attend yearly.

I was most impressed with the young people who wanted to speak up. It is clear that they were not just bodied but informed. I will post a mashup of some of the interviews within the next few days.

You can find the 42 interviews on my YouTube channel. Most are short, but there are some mid-length ones that you should not miss.

You can find all the photographs I took on my Politics Done Right Facebook Page. Most of them were taken just after nine while the crowd was building.

I started to read some of the comments from our MAGA neighbors who are of the belief that our protesters do not understand the policies, crimes, and corruption that should concern all Americans. I want to invite our objecting neighbors to listen to my Politics Done Right program on KPFT 90.1 FM in Houston every morning at 6:00 AM. Call in and talk to me civilly as to what these valid concerns are. It is simulcast right here on Substack (https://egberto.substack.com) as well.

America is in a very dangerous moment. Our leaders who are puppeteered by the billionare class is provably stealing our treasure. The sign the lady is holding up at the top of this article is something we should heed. The current Left/Right divide is engineered to distract. We should figure this out before it is too late.

The insane predatory gasoline prices, dead soldiers, and innocent civilians, the engineered and structured inflation, the inability to afford healthcare, the inability to get a higher education, or take care of a sick loved one, and more are not Left/Right issues. The reason they frame it that way is that if we are fighting each other, we get little of what we justifiably earned.

We should all get out of our silos. The #NoKings protest are a great place to have a civil conversation if one chooses not to be immutable. Now, if you are an ideologue unwilling to think critically and open your mind to the possibility that things could be different, we must not waste our time. The unnecessary suffering will be your only antidote.

Ultimately, I am sold on the types of gatherings Indivisible Kingwood (TX02) has been organizing in the community. It continues to grow as Democrats, Independents, and many Republicans have joined the fold of objective thinking, not party or ideology. Dr. Theis reminded me that during the Occupy Kingwood days, we were happy to see a couple of dozen participants. Now we get 500+ and growing. This is occurring throughout the country and must continue lest our country’s demise.
