Falkenberg: Zealots know no limits in abortion debate – Houston Chronicle

One of my Kingwood Area Democrats friend sent me a link to the article below. I am just catching up to a lot of my emails and read it just now. What an excellent article. The question is why we do not see these in much larger volumes. I was so impressed with the article I sent the author the following email: Excellent article. I wish more of our journalist would report hard hitting issues like this in a point of fact unbiased method. The media is there to inform and to keep watch on our government. I sure hope you keep writing these … [Read more...]

We all want to be in charge of our own care — the health care law means we can be

Americans strongly support what the new health care law does. But a new poll out today shows we still have ways to go in fully informing the public about the law -- particularly on the "individual mandate" in the face of continued right-wing attacks on health reform. Here's how to talk about it. Having everyone take responsibility for their own care started as a Republican idea and Americans strongly support what the new health care law does.Everyone can take charge of their own care OR the rest of us can keep paying more when people with no health insurance get sick. Eyes on Detroit–Mitt Romney would’ve let Michigan fail.

image.png

Yesterday, Mitt Romney faced voters at the polls in Michigan -- on the heels of news that the Detroit automakers he wanted to go bankrupt are now selling so many cars they're racing to keep up. Long after the polls close, voters have to live with the choices our leaders make. When the U.S. auto industry was teetering on the brink, Romney wanted to let Detroit go bankrupt. His so-called "turnaround" for Detroit's struggling automakers would've meant laying off over a million Americans, devastating our iconic auto sector, and pushing our economy over the cliff. President Obama made the call, did the deal, and saved more than a million jobs -- and now Detroit's automakers are hiring and selling so many cars they're racing to keep up. Whether or not Mitt Romney succeeds in Michigan today, voters across America won't forget: he would've let Michigan fail. CLAIM: "Romney wanted to save Detroit through private financing and traditional bankruptcy." REALITY: The fact is that … [Read more...]
