Filmmaker Dennis Trainor: White Privilege: Innocent, Trayvon Martin: Guilty (VIDEO)

Dennis Trainor

Filmmaker, Creator/Host/Writer/Director of AcronymTV, and friend Dennis Trainor released the following video on the Trayvon Martin case. He views it through the lens of a reality very few are able to process. Trainor is the Writer/Director of the feature length documentary on the Occupy Movement, American Autumn: an Occudoc. As such he is well aware of the racial and socio economic dynamics at play in this one case among many. Early in the video Trainor makes a statement that should remove what many would want to characterize as some sort of misplaced guilt or ‘rose colored’ vision of country. High on the list on what killed Trayvon and what allowed his murderer to go free is the white privilege system of racism and oppression that this country was built upon and executes, pun intended, with full force in a slightly more nuance form today. Bryan Henry captures the essence of what the Occupy Movement must become in order to have a real and lasting impact to our body politics and specifically a democracy that works for all. Occupy Kingwood is honored that he chose the local movement in our local community of Kingwood Texas and the surrounding areas to highlight as an example of the movement advancing. As noted in Bryan Henry’s article, Occupy Kingwood completed its promise of 52 consecutive weeks at the corner of Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Blvd in Kingwood Texas. The movement has morphed into a chapter of Move To Amend where it will be working on the core issues that have corrupted our politics, corporate personhood and money defined as speech. Once eradicated the voice of the the average middle class American will once again be heard. Occupy Kingwood Makes Its Last Stand–Kingwood Observer 2012-01-02

Occupy-Kingwood-Makes-Last-Stand2.jpg

Occupy Kingwood has finally received coverage in our local newspaper, the Kingwood Observer. The event has been occurring for 52 consecutive weeks at the corner of Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Boulevard. It is called an informational Occupy tasked with informing our very conservative community of the realities of the corruption in our politics. The sign says it all “Why is it easier to believe that 150,000,000 Americans are lazy rather than 400 Americans are being greedy”. It is easier to believe because the mainstream media has successfully pushed the agenda of moneyed interest that have successfully developed a plausible narrative that allows Americans to vote against their own interest and the interest of the community and the country.
