Oscar Pistorius is the 26 year old South African paralympian that was born without a fibula in both of his legs. He was the first double amputee to run in the Olympics by wearing carbon fiber prosthetic legs. He overcame claims that his Flex-Foot Cheetah carbon fiber trans-tibial prostheses gave him an unfair advantage after the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) amended its competition rule that restricted these devices. He was even named one of the sexiest men alive by People magazine.
Reeva Steenkamp was a beautiful 30 year old model and a law school graduate. According to the New York Daily she described herself as the three B’s: Brainy, blonde, bombshell. NBC News reported that she had been dating Pistorius for several months.
Reeva retweeted a rather telling if not “premonitional” tweet from South African singer songwriter Lindiwe Sutttle.

Anyone following her Twitter feed (@reevasteenkamp) would have no inkling that there was a problem. It seemed she was ready for a happy Valentine’s Day.
According to Reuters, police launched an investigation after the body of 30-year-old Reeva Steenkamp was found at the sprinter’s home on the outskirts of Pretoria.
Lt. Col. Katlego Mogale told The Associated Press that officers found a 9-mm pistol at the scene.
Police spokesperson Captain Sarah Mcirca also confirmed that the victim was shot in the arm and the head, USA Today reported.
Oscar Pistorius was charged with her murder on Thursday. The circumstances of the shooting are yet to be released.
This is one more senseless death with a gun. If guns are present during times of distress bad occurrences seem to be never far away.
