Today’s Capitalists are giving Karl Marx’s Marxism last laugh?
An educated person is a danger to any Plutocracy. Over the last three decades America has developed an unscientific and unread thread within an influential part of the population. It is as if ignorance is vogue, ignorance is bliss.
Anyone who believes the earth is six thousand years old when there are scientific tests that can verifiably and repeatedly date any carbon containing substance chooses to be uninformed. Anyone who believes that measurably increasing the carbon content of the atmosphere is neither manmade or climate change affecting, chooses to be uninformed. Anyone who denies the mathematical fact that since the inception of trickledown economics income inequality has exploded chooses to be uninformed.
America is squeezing education budgets throughout the country. Plutocracy directed politicians are willing to cut education much faster than the military. It is not difficult to understand why. An educated populace will not stand for the working class value, wealth, and worth stripping laissez faire type of Capitalism being practiced today.
Not to fear, founding father James Madison laid out in Federalist 10, the built in constitutional protections that aid in maintaining the American Plutocracy’s preeminence. To be sure, many of the founding fathers wanted a strong Federal government made up of the elite patriotic representatives that would ensure their wealth and class status. Government would protect them from factions (special interests, the poor, and the vast majority of Americans).
Why the above prose? It is an incomplete discussion. It is a discussion to be continued. It is a discussion that is asking the reader to open the mind away from indoctrination. Open the mind to work to elect leaders to create an America that works for all.
The genesis of this post is an article I came across in Rolling Stone titled “Marx Was Right: Five Surprising Ways Karl Marx Predicted 2014.” The article nails much of what I have been writing for the last decade. If we do not want to slide into one of the “isms” very few really understand, one must take heed.
We must make changes to ensure the survival of free enterprises. We must regulate Capitalism to prevent its excesses from crippling the wealth, value, and worth of most in society. We must ensure that Capitalism is a tool and not a religion. Absent this Karl Marx’s Marxism will have the last laugh.
I will be covering some of this on my Coffee Party Radio Program Politics Done Right. Please check it out here and call in if you want to add to the discourse.
Hoosgow says
It is much worse than willful ignorance. Many want to let conservatives off the hook as being ignorant or uninformed. It is rather malicious dis-ingenuity. It is feigning ignorance to push ideas known to be dis-honorable, not discussed in polite company. I am appalled at the state of our nation, as I think future generations (if they are many) will look back on aspects of this time like we view slavery. The Rush Limbaugh’s have taught this generation of conservatives to cloak their mean-spirited bigotry in pious platitudes of ignorance that cannot be challenged without revealing the disdain we have for idiots. All men are not created equal.
