Charles Koch Fights Back – The Koch Brothers Deception Continues

April 3, 2014 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Charles Koch Koch Brothers Wall Street Journal op-ed

Charles Koch, one of the Koch Brothers has had enough. He is tired of “collectivists” engaging in character assassination. He said that much in his Wall Street Journal op-ed “Charles Koch: I’m Fighting to Restore a Free Society.”

After reading the piece one wonders if Charles Koch is living in the reality based world. One wonders if he has begun to believe the lies that his several funded PACs put out to deceive the American population. In that light; here are a few glaring statements that should be rebutted.

The central belief and fatal conceit of the current administration is that you are incapable of running your own life, but those in power are capable of running it for you. This is the essence of big government and collectivism.

… Collectivists (those who stand for government control of the means of production and how people live their lives) promise heaven but deliver hell. For them, the promised end justifies the means.

This is an interesting attack on the Obama administration. While he correctly defines collectivism, there is no instance in which the Obama administration has entered the realm of means of production. What the administration did as a continuation of the Bush administration is used taxpayer resources to save the plutocracy. The Obama administration ensured that those who almost destroyed the world’s economy were able to maintain their position and status. The administration ensured that major corporations like GM did not fail. Their analysis was to tolerate some malfeasance for the better good of the status quo economy.

Had the administration done the absolute right thing, it would have allowed the market to penalize those that destroyed it. At that point the recovery would have been benign collectivism brought on by the failure of a failed plutocratic regime.

Rather than try to understand my vision for a free society or accurately report the facts about Koch Industries, our critics would have you believe we’re “un-American” and trying to “rig the system,” that we’re against “environmental protection” or eager to “end workplace safety standards.”

Charles Koch believes that it behooves Americans to understand his vision. Really? Why would anyone expect his vision to reflect that of the average American citizens? His life of unfettered privilege and entitlement bears no resemblance to the average American. Worse, unlike many moral millionaires and billionaires (e.g, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Nick Hanauer, reborn Henry Blodget), he has made no attempt at empathizing with those beneath his class status.

He claimed the minimum wage is an obstacle for people with limited capital. He must have forgotten the genesis of the minimum wage.

Charles Koch attempt to deceive his environmental record by providing a seemingly large number of environmental awards is far from probative. Number of awards does not determine good stewardship of the environment. Facts determined that.

The healthcare debacle he speaks of, Obamacare has its roots in the recommendations from the Heritage Foundation. One should note that the Koch Brothers also fund the Heritage Foundation. It was the Heritage Foundation that recommended a free market solution to health insurance. It was the Heritage Foundation that recommended the mandate to foment personal responsibility.

The WSJ Charles Koch oped proves he has earned his reputation.

How can one take the words or vision of Charles Koch seriously? He has proven that in an attempt to get his message accepted, he had to resort to lies. Many of the debunked Obamacare scare tactics (here) were finance by him through Americans for Prosperity (AFP). He wrote the above mentioned piece filled with statements that are easily debunked. If un-American is defined as the support of policies and actions that harm a vast swath of Americans, then he fits the bill.
