Darren Wilson killed unarmed teen Michael Brown
Darren Wilson is Ferguson, MO police officer that killed Michael Brown. CBSNews reports that
The police officer who fatally shot unarmed teen Michael Brown, prompting days of unrest in Ferguson, Missouri and rallies nationwide, has been identified as Darren Wilson.
Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson made the announcement Friday morning, having previously refused citing concerns over the officer’s safety.
Jackson said that Wilson had been an officer in the force for six years and no disciplinary action was taken against him. Wilson was treated for injuries after the shooting, Jackson said.
During the press conference Ferguson Chief of Police said that Officer Darren Wilson was received a call of a man that stole cigars from a convenient store. Since the Chief did not answer any questions no one was able to query whether Officer Darren Wilson considered Michael Brown a suspect.
It was evident in the interview that the Chief was uncomfortable as he revealed Darren Wilson. It is still not understood why he mention Wilson was injured or why he mentioned the robbery of cigars if not to keep the real information muddled.
