This is why Ted Cruz is dangerous
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) did what he does best at a political event held in New Hampshire by the Strafford County Republican Committee. He lied and scared a group of Americans in the same manner done by the late Senator Joseph McCarthy, the man that terrorized Americans in the 1950s with his ‘Red Scare’, McCarthyism.
“Millions of Americans are realizing this isn’t working,” Ted Cruz said. “The Obama economy is a disaster. Obamacare is a train wreck. And the Obama / Clinton foreign policy of leading from behind.”
For the low information listener those words are scary. They have developed a blind belief in the rhetoric of politicians like Ted Cruz.
The reality is the economy is not a disaster. In fact President Obama’s job creation numbers in the last two years are only second to President Bill Clinton and will likely surpass them. One knows the economy is moving when even a misinforming mainstream media starts acknowledging the reality.
Obamacare is firing on all cylinders. Even NBC’s host of Meet The Press had to admit that fact in a piece he did that was surprisingly good. What is ironic is that Red States have been the biggest beneficiaries of Obamacare as they had the largest drop in the uninsured rate. Texas, Ted Cruz’s state has left over one million of its citizens uninsured for its refusal to accept the Medicaid expansion to the Affordable Care Act.
Ted Cruz claims the President is leading from behind. While the characterization is false, the President’s brand of foreign policy stresses diplomacy over war. ISIS / ISIL, that big bad monster that was more hype than substance is in retreat. They attempted to use ISIS / ISIL to force America into another war to prop up the military industrial complex.
Most of those advocating war never served, have no kids serving, nor support policies that ensure those who served are well taken care of when they return. Their policies of cut at all cost except for money for the military industrial complex is probative.
During Ted Cruz speech of hyperbolic lies, a little girl was so scared she shouted out,”The world is on fire?” according Adam Smith, Tampa Bay Times political editor.
“The world is on fire,” Ted Cruz responded. “Yes, your world is on fire.” He then grinned and told her that her mother being there along with others will make sure the world is even better.
Does this man not understand the psychological effect he has on the young and uninformed? Does he not understand the paranoia he is causing? Of course he does. That is his intent. When one subscribes to a failed ideology, deception is all that is available to keep power.
Ted Cruz was half right about one thing. The government he advocates is good at screwing things up.
