Rick Tyler wants to make America white again for very specific reasons.
Tennessee District 3 Congressional Candidate Rick Tyler
Tennessee District 3 Congressional Candidate Rick Tyler put out a billboard that said Make America Right Again. His explanation defies history. Tyler is a throwback from the past. His bigotry is palpable. He speaks with a pleasantness that makes his verbiage palatable to some.
When asked why he put out the sign, Tyler said he wanted to be provocative. He wanted people to ponder the real meaning of a white supermajority. Tyler said he grew up in the ‘Leave It To Beaver’ era. He said the America of then was a better America.
Rick Tyler implies that crime rate has more to do with race than with the socio-economic realities of racism.
“The ‘Leave It To Beaver,’ ‘Harriet and Ozzie,’ Mayberry America that I grew up in,” Tyler said. “Was a better America. It was an America where there was far less violent crime. It was an America where you left your doors unlocked. You didn’t have carjackings; you didn’t have home invasions. You didn’t have Muslim sleeper cell, possibly lurking out there.”
This is Trump’s America. Tyler continued his divisive message. It is evident that while he speaks well, his intellect based on his argument is subpar.
Race is a social construct. The fallacy that any race has a monopoly on virtue or criminality is simply racist. The genesis of America was violent. The pain and savagery that was inflicted on black people and indigenous people make today’s violence seem inconsequential.
Simple biology makes it irrefutable that race is a social construct. It is the reason why the heart of a black person could be more compatible with that of a white person more so than even one’s sister.
