Right Wing baits Mainstream Media Again
Watch MSNBC give a Right Wing hack the airtime to create a false narrative about Hillary Clinton’s health with a tepid pushback. The reality is that the segment should not have aired at all. It encourages the promotion of fallacies when other pertinent news while real news suffers.
The host of the show first plays Donald Trump’s statement that Hillary Clinton did not have the stamina to be president. He implies that she is ill. Of course, Sean Hannity and others have been promoting the fallacy of Hillary Clinton needing help to move around. Hannity even suggested that she had a stroke.
When one of the panelists stated the fact that the Right Wing media was seeding the misinformation, the host moved off of that notion instead of exploring it. She allowed the other panelist, a Right Wing hack, the airtime to further misinform Americans, to leave doubt about Hillary Clinton’s health.
To many, the host may seem sympathetic to Hillary Clinton because she equated the false notion of Hillary Clinton’s ‘tiredness’ with campaigning. What she really did was allow the introduction for those predisposed to believe anything negative about Hillary Clinton that there is something there.
It is a tactic perfected by the Right Wing. It is a tactic that always baits the mainstream media into a reaction. This hurts us all as it corrupts news dissemination. It hurts our politics. However, if we are aware of the tactic and we ensure others are as well, more voters will become inoculated from it.
