Trump is toast: Former GOP member of Congress tells Robert Reich

December 27, 2018 By Egberto Willies

Robert Reich called up one of his Republican friends as he does every so often. Following is the exchange he had as stated at his blog post. It would be interesting to see how quickly it materializes.

Robert Reich: So, what are you hearing?

Former GOP Rep: Trump is in deep sh*t.

Robert Reich: Tell me more.

Former GOP Rep: When it looked like he was backing down on the wall, Rush and the crazies on Fox went ballistic. So he has to do the shutdown to keep the base happy. They’re his insurance policy. They stand between him and impeachment.

Robert Reich: Impeachment? No chance. Senate Republicans would never go along.

Former GOP Rep (laughing): Don’t be so sure. Corporate and Wall Street are up in arms. Trade war was bad enough. Now, you’ve got Mattis resigning in protest. Trump pulling out of Syria, giving Putin a huge win. This dumbass shutdown. The stock market in free-fall. The economy heading for recession.

Robert Reich: But the base loves him.

Former GOP Rep: Yeah, but the base doesn’t pay the bills.

Robert Reich : You mean…

Former GOP Rep: Follow the money, friend.

Robert Reich: The GOP’s backers have had enough?

Former GOP Rep: They wanted Pence all along.

Robert Reich: So …

Former GOP Rep : So they’ll wait until Mueller’s report, which will skewer Trump. Pelosi will wait, too. Then after the Mueller bombshell, she’ll get 20, 30, maybe even 40 Republicans to join in an impeachment resolution.

Robert Reich: And then?

Former GOP Rep: Senate Republicans hope that’ll be enough – that Trump will pull a Nixon.

Robert Reich: So you think he’ll resign?

Former GOP Rep (laughing): No chance. He’s fu*king out of his mind. He’ll rile up his base into a fever. Rallies around the country. Tweet storms. Hannity. Oh, it’s gonna be ugly. He’ll convince himself he’ll survive.

Robert Reich: And then?

Former GOP Rep: That’s when Senate Republicans pull the trigger.

Robert Reich: Really? Two-thirds of the Senate?

Former GOP Rep: Do the math. 47 Dems will be on board, so you need 19 Republicans. I can name almost that many who are already there. Won’t be hard to find the votes.

Robert Reich: But it will take months. And the country will be put through a ringer.

Former GOP Rep: I know. That’s the worst part.

Robert Reich: I mean, we could have civil war.

Former GOP Rep: Hell, no. That’s what he wants, but no chance. His approvals will be in the cellar. America will be glad to get rid of him.

Robert Reich: I hope you’re right.

Former GOP Rep: He’s a dangerous menace. He’ll be gone. And then he’ll be indicted, and Pence will pardon him. But the state investigations may put him in the clinker. Good riddance.

While to many this would be a good thing. The biggest concern is that Vice President Pence could be bigger menace to Progressives. Why? Because he gives a semblance of steady-handedness and he promotes bad and evil policies with a smile and kind words.

Kind of like when I upholstered some bar stools for the owner of a pool table place, always smiling while he ripped you apart! I don’t trust people who smile all the time! It’s going to be one hell of a ride but we must get rid of the Republican Monster they created and then helped him win by conspiring with Russia with all Russia’s donations and bribes! There will be a number of Republicans going down with him losing their jobs, positions and hopefully ending up with plenty of prison time for all the hell they put our country through with no thoughts about the rest of us, only their wealthy masters and big corporations!

The Republican mentioned by Reich is 100% right and yes Pence is worse because he’s quietly waiting for the kill and he will be worse in so many beliefs he holds but he’ll do it with a quiet smile. How did we ever deserve such filth among us. Our country is truly being punished. We better get wise @ life and what is most important for our country to regain its morality and respect for the needs of those less fortunate. God help us, we need it.

Convincing people that Pence was truely unaware of the things Trump had going with the Russians with the job he has had would be a non-starter. He sat in on almost everything Trump did…he was always in the pictures and the background quietly watching. And I for one don’t believe for one minute that he wasn’t aware. I think Muller knows it too. Muller may not have interviewed Pence yet, but I bet he has a lot on him.

Oh please! There is an obvious reason the guy is a former GOP Congressman. This is just so much delusional, wishful thinking. It will never happen and if it did, civil war is a distinct possibility and since the progressives eschew guns, the outcome would be equally obvious.
