Mainstream media smearing the “unacceptable” Democratic candidates & policies.

I am very concerned with the short term obsession with Trump by the Democratic establishment. If you set aside the boorish facade and look at the material effects of his edicts, proclamations, executive orders and signed legislation you find 50 years of republican agenda writ large. He continues to be a useful fool in pushing that agenda forward.

The most dangerous thing he has done is blaze a trail for future leaders to follow and that is the pursuit and execution of power with no regard for previous norms and most importantly the unenforceable, archaic notion of “separation of powers“. The legislative branch can demand all they want but they have no actual enforcement powers. This breakdown has been ably abetted by chief henchman McConnell and his milk-toast counterpart Schumer.

Democratic Establishment always in search of the mythical center

A centrist victory in 2020 is unlikely to produce sufficient, meaningful legislation to address the current freefall in the fortunes of the working class or produce legislation that will address the unbridled excesses of the executive branch. Nor will a centrist executive use the currently uncheckable power of his office to implement meaningful change such as rigorous enforcement of existing anti-trust legislation. I expect a centrist inaugural address to be liberally sprinkled with the word bi-partisan an effort that has yet to produce any useful results for two decades.

In fact, I fully expect a democratic centrist victory to produce another red tsunami similar to 2010, in 2022, the next redistricting class.
