Embarrassing: Russian State TV laughing at GOP saying they need Russia to elect a President

One wonders what it will take before Trump supporters make the switch. Will Russia play a part? At some point, Trump’s mastery of lying convincingly to his sheep will ring hollow. And the GOP will pay the price.

I found the following on DailyKos a few minutes ago. At first, I started laughing. But then a feeling of dread came over me. Irrespective of which Democrat wins, in 2020 the damage done in the President’s four years, will take much more than that to repair. We are still living with Bush’s failures.

Russian state TV laughs at GOP: ‘Without us, they can’t elect a president’

So Matt Gaetz, who looks like a bobblehead without the neck spring, led a goofy (and likely illegal) Doolittle raid on our own government yesterday. Yeah, you read about that. If not, here’s a rundown.

Anyway, Gaetz — who is at least 94 percent cranium — nevertheless didn’t have the smarts to see how silly this all looked. He had serious grievances about … something. Maybe the fact that the hearings were being conducted in secret in front of, uh, other Republicans? But Democrats have merely been following protocol, so this was obviously just kabuki theater put on for the benefit of the Prince of Orange.

And now, once again, the world is laughing at us. Or, more accurately, at our Republican half.

Julia Davis is a Russian media analyst who’s written for The Washington Post and The Daily Beast, and she has this urgent dispatch from Putinland:

#Russia's state TV is laughing at the circus caused by the Republicans storming the most restricted area of the Capitol: "Those are the people who try to tell us how to conduct ourselves!"
The host: "Poor things, they're so upset! Still—without us, they can’t elect a President." pic.twitter.com/1pTPA19eMy

Russia?

There was a time when Republicans would promote a narrative of Democrats being weak. And Russia was the enemy. They would talk about the rest of the world laughing at or disrespecting us. It was never true. Unfortunately when we point out that America is now the laughing stock of the world because of the Republican leadership, its not just words. It’s real.
