Former Romney Republican Strategist Stuart Stevens recently appeared on TV and said he will be voting democratic. He gave specific reasons.
Strategist Stuart Stevens is voting Democratic to save Democracy from Trump tyranny
“What I’m going to do is support Democrats,” the former Romney strategist said. “Because I think really to me that’s the only honest choice. We’re either gonna be run by Democrats or Republicans in this country. Listen. I spent decades pointing out flaws in the Democratic Party. I don’t think it’s perfect but right now I think that it still believes in some concept of what it is to be an American.”
Now that is a prescient statement. The people who used to attempt to paint Democrats as less than patriotic have realized who the real patriots are.
“I just find so troubling absent in the Republican Party’s acceptance of Donald Trump,” the strategist said. “And I think that you have to take a side and if the Republican Party is the Trump Party, I’ll support Democrats and I’ll do it because I think it’s the better choice.”
