Joe Biden blasts Donald Trump’s comments
Biden gives a well-designed rebuke of the president for his statement that soldiers are losers. Biden was responding to the Atlantic article titled “Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’.”
In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
Biden said the president’s comments were “disgusting” and that it validates everything most thought about him in the first place. Biden said the president is not fit to be the commander-in-chief.
Biden did not forget to tie in Trump’s tyranny of not confronting Vladimir Putin for putting bounties on the heads of American soldiers in Afghanistan.
“President Trump as demonstrated that he has no sense of service,” Biden said. “No loyalty to any cause other than himself.”
