MSNBC’s Jason Johnson and MediaMatters’ CEO Angelo Carusone define who the GOP and Fox News really are. They are more like Infowar.
Fox News is not a news channel.
If a TV station adjusts what the truth is to fit the wants of its listeners, it is not a news station. It is pure entertainment. That realm is in the fictional world.
Unfortunately, because Fox News chose to be an entertainment avenue solely to keep the eyeballs of its audience at all costs, it materially hurt the country.
The people who live with their willful ignorance of truth use it as permission to do wrong while having plausible deniability. That is why they get upset at Fox News when they accidentally tell the truth. The excuse that they have for their ignorance and sycophancy is taken away.
But when those like Tucker Carlson, who are the stewards of our airwaves, make it clear that they lie to keep the share price high, that should be a punishable offense. That behavior has deleterious ramifications.
The following from the New York Times is probative.

“Please get her fired,” Mr. Carlson said. He added: “It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It’s measurably hurting the company. The stock price is down. Not a joke.”
Jason Johnson and Angelo Carusone nail it. Fox News, by all definitions, is a clear and present danger.
