Republican presidential candidates, true to their sycophancy to the NRA, ignored the maiming and killing of American children and adults with legal weapons of war.

Republican candidates’ inhumane NRA stance

There have been more mass shootings in the United States than days in the year so far.

The United States has faced at least 146 mass shootings so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. There have been more mass shootings than days in 2023. Mass shootings are defined as an incident in which four or more victims are shot or killed, according to the archive.

There have been at least 15 mass shootings in the U.S. in the first 10 days of April alone, according to GVA. Though mass shootings don’t make up the majority of gun violence incidents in America, their impact on communities and victims is evident.

Yet the GOP candidates are oblivious to humane behavior and policies.

“Let me make you a promise,” former vice president Mike Pence said. “As long as there is breath in my lungs, I will stand with you to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

“And now I am here before you as a candidate for President of the United States,” Asa Hutchinson said. “And I guarantee you that I will continue to stand with the NRA. I will continue to stand for the Second Amendment and the fight that we have in front of us.”

“The Second Amendment ensures that the American people have the capacity to defend their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor,” said Ron DeSantis. “It’s the last backstop of freedom, the foundation upon which all of our other rights rest.”

“I am a concealed weapons permit holder myself,” Nikki Haley said. “My husband is a hunter, and we value the fact that citizens have the right to protect themselves. And so know that you’ve always got a friend in me. You’ve always got a partner in me as they try and take away any of our constitutional rights.”

Could the pandering be any more obscene? This is another reason our American Taliban must be beaten.
