After I played a piece where Congresswoman Ilham Omar highlighted how the GOP debt ceiling hostage-taking cuts would affect Republican constituents in the Red States, a caller disregarded the fact to concentrate on a few Ilhan Omar Tropes.
Ilhan Omar trope by caller snuffed.
Alex Wagner and Ilhan Omar pointed out the evil that the Republican debt ceiling hostage-taking cuts represented not only for America, but they specifically noted that it will after the GOP constituency much more than it will Democrats.
Reuters reported the following.
But a Reuters analysis of federal spending data indicates that his proposed domestic-spending caps could be felt most acutely in the states that backed Republican President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential elect
Republicans have so maligned Omar that one of their constituents, the caller to Politics Done Right, can only think about the Omar tropes instead of the fact that the politicians he supports are screwing him.
So how are Republicans hurting their constituents?
The GOP’s debt ceiling plan, dubbed the “Limit, Save, Grow Act,” includes $4.5 trillion in cuts to government spending and returns discretionary spending to fiscal year 2022 levels.
This includes:
- Rescinding the funding for 87,000 IRS agents
- Reallocating unspent COVID-19 relief money
- Eliminating Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan
- Ending tax credits for companies that invest in green energy
- Raising the age limit to 56 from 50 on work requirements to receive federal food aid from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP
- Blocking the Biden administration from limiting consumer access to gas stoves or ovens
The caller bought into the unsubstantiated accusations that the Congresswoman was married to her brother and that she was an ‘illegal alien.’ Unfortunately, the sources used to misinform him have a purpose. It is the bait and switch Tennessee State Representative spoke about. They commit the gullible to issues that do nothing to make their lives better as they pick their pockets.
Shame on Republicans. Shame on the misinformers. And shame on the willfully ignorant and willfully gullible.
