Stephanopoulos grills Ramaswamy, who was Trumpier than Trump with the same missing morality.

September 3, 2023 By Egberto Willies

This Week’s George Stephanopoulos grilled Republican Primary Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy about his support for Trump and more, where the candidate displayed a complete lack of morality and the uncanny ability to bloviate.

Stephanopoulos grills Ramaswamy

Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy appeared on George Stephanopoulos‘ program, where he presented himself as “Trumpier than Trump” by skirting direct questions and focusing on a new, more extreme Trumpian message. Stephanopoulos questioned Ramaswamy on his views about President Trump’s actions around January 6th and other controversial behaviors. Ramaswamy consistently drew a distinction between “bad behavior” and “illegal behavior,” refusing to criticize Trump as a thug and criminal openly.

Senator Tim Kaine responded to Ramaswamy’s interview, pointing out a “complete lack of moral compass” among GOP candidates who continue to support Trump despite acknowledging his wrongdoings. He criticized the moral failing of pledging to pardon Trump if elected.

One should be concerned that a recent national poll showed an even 46-46% split in support between Trump and Biden. This can be attributed to the Democrats’ failure to invest sufficiently in grassroots and alternative media outlets.

The Republican Party represents a “cancer” on America by eschewing moral responsibility, while Democrats are failing to get their progressive message across effectively. Progressives must populate the internet with their message and invest in community organizations and alternative media to drive change.

There is interest in political commentary with a progressive slant. It’s worth considering how both mainstream and alternative media spaces are utilized for political messaging. While the Republican Party has been able to dominate messaging across multiple platforms, the Democratic Party’s lack of investment in grassroots campaigns and alternative media may be costing them. These gaps in political communication present both challenges and opportunities for activists and writers who may have the platforms and skills to help fill these voids. Utilizing blogging, radio hosting, and video commentaries can serve as crucial platforms to dissect such interviews and offer progressive interpretations and strategies for Democrats.

Regarding the notion that Democrats need to invest more in alternative media and community organizations, this isn’t just an opinion held by a few. Studies have shown that conservatives have historically invested more in local media and community-based outreach, which has given them an edge in shaping public opinion. Therefore, as someone deeply involved in various forms of media, you might find that advocating for such a grassroots, bottom-up approach aligns well with progressive values.
