Pseudo Journalist Mark Halperin disrespects again
Mark Halperin, the pseudo journalist that disrespected President Obama by calling him ‘a dick’ on air is at it again. He disrespected a Senator with a very unprofessional manner of questioning. Who was that Senator? Ted Cruz.
To be clear, Ted Cruz is a demagogue. Ted Cruz is a hypocrite. Ted Cruz is full of hot air. Ted Cruz is a climate change denier. Ted Cruz is a fraud. Ted Cruz is the new McCarthy. Inasmuch as all these are true, journalists should practice journalism. Journalists should ask questions that impact the lives of those affected by the policies effected by the actions and policies of the politicians being interviewed.
In this interview Mark Halperin went completely over the line. He all but asked Ted Cruz to ‘sing and dance’ to prove he is a Latino. The undertone was evident. Is Ted Cruz white or Latino? For the learned, he is both. For this pseudo journalist, his attempt was to box Ted Cruz in.
Mark Halperin asked Ted Cruz to name his favorite Latin food. He asked him to name his favorite music. He asked what ethnicity he chose when applying to his universities. Most embarrassingly he asked Ted Cruz to speak Spanish. Ted Cruz acquiesced and answered every question except he did no speak Spanish for Mark Halperin. Ted Cruz named the Latin foods he likes. He claimed he favored country music over Latin music. Cruz also claimed he selected Latino on his application forms.
As I watched the interview, inasmuch as I felt some comfort in watching Ted Cruz get the ‘minority’ treatment his party gives to many, I understood that Mark Halperin was being a stereotyping journalist. If he gets away with that stereotyping while interviewing Ted Cruz, he will get away with his prejudices interviewing Hillary Clinton, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, and Bobby Jindal.
