Bernie Sanders in striking distance in Iowa – Shake-up in presidential race (VIDEO)

August 31, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Bernie Sanders is shaking the election. Will he get his due now?

The most recent Iowa polls revealed an inconvenient truth for the national media. Bernie Sanders is surging. Is this the Obama election all over again? Remember when Hillary Clinton was the inevitable Democratic nominee in 2008? Is history repeating itself?

The surge that Donald Trump has seen and is seeing is to be expected. The media are treating him like a rock star. They are attentive to every utterance he makes. Inasmuch as he lies, misinforms, and misleads, the traditional mainstream media continue to cover him as if he had newsworthy comments to make. For the low information listener/reader/watcher, the attention gives Donald Trump a semblance of serious contention.

Bernie Sanders has not been afforded that luxury. He has had to campaign one voter at a time, one audience at a time, one rally at a time. He seems to accept every TV invitation he gets to ensure he gets some sort of coverage however condescending at times.

Bernie Sander has surged to within 7 points of Hillary Clinton in Iowa. He was recently down by double digits.

Bernie Sanders’ grassroots efforts seem to be slowly paying off. If it is to continue, he must use the alternative media. The traditional mainstream media, the corporate media will not give an insurgent candidate, a middle-class centric candidate, the opportunity for unfettered airwaves access as the wards of the plutocracy are given.
