President Obama pardons turkey alongside unimpressed daughters Sasha & Malia
President Obama once again had to endure the indignity of another silly turkey pardoning. His daughters’ expressions seemed to express all that he felt. It is evident that the President sees this act as beneath the presidency. After-all it is outright silly. He did not waste the opportunity provided by the occasion to call the members of the GOP clown cart turkeys on the sly. “There has been a fierce competition between a bunch of turkeys trying to win their way into the White House,” President Obama said. “Some of you caught that.”
The President announced that the two winning birds were named Honest and Abe. After a few words he felt it necessary to commend his daughters for standing with him for the silly occasion. “Oh boy,” the President said. “By the way. I am going to publicly thank Malia and Sasha for once again standing here with me during the turkey pardon. They do this solely because it makes me feel good. Not because they actually think this is something I should be doing. And you know as you get older you appreciate when your kids indulge you like this. So I am very grateful.”
I cannot wait for the Right Wing attacks on the President’s beautiful daughters. Last year the attacks were vicious.
The President said he and his daughters will be feeding veteran after the event. He thanked a few companies for helping out. A few words later he was unable to contain himself. “Time flies even if turkeys don’t,” said the President. “I know some folks think this tradition is a bit silly. I do not disagree.”
The President then wished all Americans a Happy Thanksgiving. He said Americans live in the best country in the world. He saluted the military and the American people for looking out for each other.
The President walked over, pardoned the turkeys, and then walked off with his daughter laughing at the rather silly event.
