The media filters Biden’s Build Back Better message through their sensationalized narrative then blames Democrats for not telling Americans how the bills improve their lives.
It’s the media bungling the Build Back Better message
Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, is interviewed on the cable channels constantly. When discussing the human infrastructure bill or any part of the Biden Agenda, Jayapal always points out how the bills would improve Americans’ lives by expanding Medicare to include dental coverage and more. She talks about its tax credits for children, support for family leave, working families’ child care, and much more.
President Joe Biden talks about it constantly as he explains what the bills would do and how we would pay for it. He uses it as an opportunity to appropriately castigate the wealthy who have been figuratively freeloading on our society.
Senator Bernie Sanders, Rep. Cori Bush, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Senator Chuck Schumer, and many others have been explaining to the media all that is in the bill. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is famous for saying the teachers, the teachers, the teachers in her narrative explaining the Build Back Better policy.
I generally respect Peter Baker‘s report. But what happened here. It is as though they made him a lawyer arguing an arbitrary position. It is this kind of reporting that gives us presidential losers like Donald Trump.
Peter had the nerve to claim that Donald Trump was an excellent brander. The reality is that most of the Trump-branded failures have been failures. It’s not that he was a great brander. It is that he had the privilege to attain an unlimited number of branded failures. Yet, Baker highlights Trump as he misrepresents Democrats’ fight for the Build Back Better Agenda.
