The debt ceiling deceptions favor corporations over individuals and the richest individuals over the rest of us
The right has narrowed the parameters of discussion on student debt forgiveness, and President Biden is not fighting back aggressively enough. We should, in fact, center the idea of fairness in this debate.
Republicans are holding the nation hostage to the debt ceiling if Democrats don’t effect an austerity budget. They forget they are responsible for it.
The nation raised its debt limit three times under Donald Trump. Even he said the matter was no place for gamesmanship (he who told supporters, “I’ve always loved debt.”)
President Reagan is revered by many. Unfortunately his policies accelerated the progressive destruction of the middle-class by encouraging debt.
This is why reverse mortgages are no real friend of the working or retiring middle class.
The policies affected based on this fraud has cost millions their jobs, their wealth, and some even their lives. This story is rarely covered.
